The Head of Human Resources will play a pivotal role in shaping our overall HR strategy, providing strategic insight and analysis on people-related themes across the business units. Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and implementing a data-informed Employee Relations strategy, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Working on projects and initiatives to mitigate risk, support or participate in special projects/programs requiring ER stakeholder input.

  • Shaping and leading a team of HR Business Partners, developing their skills and capabilities to develop close working relationships with management teams and provide proactive, commercially-focused HR solutions, input, and advice.
  • Leading the development and implementation of an ER framework for all key ER activities, including, but not limited to, grievance and disciplinary investigations, absence, and performance management.
  • Mentoring and guiding HR Business Partners through the sharing of knowledge and role modeling to help them develop their remit and become trusted business partners for the business area they support.
  • Taking the strategic lead on shaping the HR Business Partner service.
  • Working closely with the HR Director on strategic and confidential projects as required.
  • Utilizing and championing HR metrics to aid understanding and strategy across the operations and provide insight and analysis on people themes for the HRD and Management Teams.
  • Setting HR practice and procedure for the team and business in line with statutory requirements.
  • Exercising autonomous decision-making in line with process and risk level.
  • Leading large-scale restructure and TUPE projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working within matrix management structures across functional boundaries and delivering through others.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, along with extensive experience of managing a team during a time of transition.
  • Adept at designing and implementing commercially focused HR strategies and solutions.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and commercial focus.
  • Experience in building, maintaining, and developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coaching/mentoring qualification or evidence of continuing development.
  • Ability to travel to various sites.
