About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join our Oncology team at Southend Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cancer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake the Consultant Clinical Oncologist role at Southend Hospital, working alongside Clinical Oncologists to provide comprehensive cancer care.
  • Manage junior medical staff, including the professional development of trainees, and promote a friendly and team-based working environment.
  • Assume responsibility for the management of junior medical staff, including the professional development of trainees.
  • Contribute to the development of our cancer services, including the implementation of new treatments and therapies.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCP qualification.
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for oncology or within 6 months of attainment at the time of interview.
  • Evidence of completion of specialist training or equivalent.
  • MD or PhD qualification (desirable).
  • Evidence of management training (desirable).
