About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust, working in collaboration with existing Consultants and within a wider multi-professional team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Oncologist to join our team, providing a comprehensive Oncology and Haematology service to the population of North and South Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical audit and use evidence-based practice to inform decision-making.
  • Participate in audit, teaching, training, and research in the field of Medical Oncology.
  • Work effectively with colleagues and within a team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Organise and prioritise workload effectively, and plan strategically to exercise sound judgements.
  • Motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team, balancing departmental and personal objectives.
Person Specification
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Possession of MRCP or equivalent qualification in Medical Oncology.
  • Eligibility to be on the specialist register within 6 months of interview date.
  • Evidence of training in research methodology.
  • Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems.
  • An awareness of current speciality-specific developments, initiatives, and issues.
