Permanent position | Full-time, 37 hours per week | Salary range: £47,320 to £51,304 per annum (Grade L) | Location: King's Lynn

Role Overview:
As the Community and Schools Services Manager for West Norfolk, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing support for Children, Young People, and Families. Your expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) will be crucial in fostering an inclusive environment for vulnerable youth.

About Norfolk County Council:
2024 marks a transformative period for Norfolk County Council Children's Services, following a commendable Ofsted inspection and the introduction of our innovative School and Community Cluster model. This initiative aims to enhance existing efforts and build capacity to provide timely support to children, young people, and families.

Our teams will implement core practices centered around relationship-based methodologies, including Signs of Safety, Solihull Approach, Communities of Practice, Joint Agency Group Supervision, Restorative Practices, and Family Networking.

Our mission is to ensure that children, young people, and families in Norfolk receive early support to thrive. By collaborating as a prevention and early help system, we can provide families with the appropriate assistance at the right moment.

The School and Community Cluster Teams primarily engage with educational institutions and families needing early intervention for emerging SEND requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Team Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the School and Community service in West Norfolk, directing a team of practitioners to deliver early intervention and preventative services that promote educational inclusion.
  • Supervise case management, ensuring that planning and interventions are well-documented and lead to successful, sustainable outcomes.
  • Be accountable for meeting service performance targets, collaborating with stakeholders to address inequalities and foster a culture of prevention and early assistance.
  • Cultivate relationship-based practices within a Community of Practice, enhancing partnerships with statutory and voluntary organizations to improve service delivery and efficiency.
  • Utilize data and local insights to assess community needs and collaboratively design localized services as part of the School and Community initiative.
  • Support the Head of Service in delivering high-quality services through quality assurance and professional development, ensuring exceptional outcomes for children, young people, and families.

Benefits of Working with Norfolk County Council:
Enjoy a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement with options to buy and sell leave, and access to health and wellbeing services, including fast-track physiotherapy and free counseling. Flexible working arrangements are available, along with financial benefits such as an employee discount program, relocation expenses for eligible roles, and a comprehensive pension scheme with employer contributions.

We encourage you to review the full job description to understand how your skills and experiences align with our requirements.
