About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Administrator to join our team at Northern Gas and Power. As a key member of our People function, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and ensuring the smooth operation of our HR systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including maintaining employee records, processing documentation, and managing absence.
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding process, including conducting pre-employment checks and producing offer letters/contracts of employment.
  • Prepare and issue documentation for employee life cycle events, including probation completions, flexible working requests, and offboarding.
  • Monitor and log employee absence, raise triggers, and conduct return to work meetings.
  • Support with notetaking in formal meetings, ensure accuracy, and discuss the case with the investigating officer.
  • Support with ER issues and escalate to relevant Business Partner, where appropriate.
  • Work closely with the wider People Team to provide support in relation to recruitment, training, and development, and colleague engagement.
  • Analyze employee data and provide recommendations to management.
  • Support with exit interviews and identify trends/patterns using data collated and prepare monthly reports.
  • Ensure all HR policies are in line with employment law and provide advice and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Keep updated with employment law changes, HR developments, and best practices.
  • Contribute to and own a range of HR projects and initiatives across the employee life cycle.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in an administrative role within a People/HR function.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to own self-development.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities to tight deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong multitasking ability with a can-do and follow-through attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and a strong desire to succeed, with proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and practical, logical thinking.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
