Job Summary:

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Commodity Officer to join our team at WestMARC. As a key member of our purchasing team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and allocation of stock with a turnover value of approximately £7 million per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement process for commodities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to achieve best value for the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize procurement needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement data to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS Scotland's procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • SVQ level 3 in supply chain activity or equivalent qualification and experience.
  • Proven experience in a purchasing environment, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
