Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and managing all aspects of purchasing, including running MRP summary reports, raising purchase orders, and managing delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run MRP summary reports daily and raise purchase orders
  • Highlight and action any shortages or potential shortages
  • Manage delivery schedules and order books for production, engineering, and NPI projects
  • Calculate and distribute demand forecasts to the supply base
  • Compile supplier performance reports and manage the supplier base
  • Ensure suppliers adhere to SLA conditions and terms
  • Interact with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
  • Coordinate with engineering departments on New Product Introductions
  • Ensure new suppliers are appraised through the QA/ISO evaluation system
  • Manage procurement business system data input and integrity
  • Manage item attributes and facilitate Coherent Corp.'s Kanban strategy
  • Participate in maximizing the procurement team's changes and quote table maintenance
  • Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities
  • Deliver on Key Performance Measures, including supplier OTD, inventory targets, and SOX Compliance

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Purchasing/Logistics in an MRP & Kanban environment
  • Proficient user of MS Office packages
  • Oracle & Cumulus experience is a distinct advantage
  • Degree-level qualification, ideally CIPS/BPICS qualified, is an advantage
  • Domestic or global expertise of assigned commodities
  • Solution-driven approach to daily operational issues
  • Solid administrative skills with the ability to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Able to work on your own initiative and self-motivated with a positive approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and confident to communicate at all levels within a culturally diverse workforce
  • Negotiation and supply chain relationship management skills
