Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at New Directions Education Ltd. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviour in a variety of educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviour
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, while fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and other support staff to create a consistent and structured learning experience
  • Encourage student independence, social development, and self-confidence through innovative and engaging approaches
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive in supporting the diverse needs of students
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Desirable:
  • Experience in working in an educational setting or special education
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or behaviour management
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (support can be provided in obtaining this)
