Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive individual to become part of our ERC team as an ERC Coordinator for a temporary engagement. In this dynamic Control Room position, you will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (during standard office hours), providing essential administrative support to our service area and management team. Daily interactions with customers, internal departments, and external organizations will be a key part of your role, utilizing various computer systems to enhance your work efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring.
  • Facilitate responses to the Home Emergency Alarms Response Service (HEARS).
  • Manage out-of-hours inquiries from the public and external entities.
  • Execute all administrative duties related to the HEARS service.
  • Support collaborative efforts with external partners.
  • Assist in executing specialized projects, data collection, information analysis, and consultation processes.
  • Conduct financial accounting and processing tasks.
  • Maintain and update both manual and digital records, ensuring the accuracy and currency of customer information.
  • Prepare and distribute promotional materials, book venues, arrange catering, prepare agendas, and document minutes at community safety forums.
  • Engage in open days, conferences, consultation events, and other public forums to promote the HEARS service.
  • Provide clerical support functions, including correspondence, scheduling appointments/meetings, and generating reports.
  • Manage the daily schedule for responders and ERC Officers, ensuring coverage for absences.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels for alarm equipment, HEARS first-aid supplies, CCTV media, and office supplies.
  • Foster effective relationships with team members to ensure the successful execution of key projects and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Essential qualifications: Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in an administrative capacity, particularly in call handling.
  • Experience in an administrative support/project support setting.
  • Capability to manage finances, including invoice processing and financial record maintenance.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions based on gathered information.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in record keeping and data entry.
  • Familiarity with community safety and local government operations (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar software.
