Position Overview

Flint Wines Ltd is a prominent fine wine merchant in the UK, established with a focus on exceptional wine sourcing and distribution. Over the years, the company has expanded its portfolio to include a diverse range of producers, primarily from Burgundy, the US, and Italy, while maintaining a commitment to quality and excellence.

Role Context

With significant growth in sales over the past few years, Flint Wines Ltd recognizes the need to enhance its technological infrastructure. This role is pivotal in leveraging technology to optimize operations and support the team in achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses five primary areas:

Systems Management: Collaborate with team members to ensure that our systems empower optimal performance.

  • Lead the transition from Tvision's Navision to their cloud-based solution, Bevica.
  • Partner with the finance department to assess and upgrade the payment processing system.
  • Facilitate seamless integration of various systems, including the introduction of new tools and managing their connections.

Website Development: Work alongside external developers to create a web experience that aligns with the company's values and needs.

  • Ensure the website meets the highest standards for various audiences: clients, producers, and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with sales and purchasing teams to define web product requirements and develop a timely, budget-conscious roadmap.

Data Management & Reporting: Maintain a unified and accurate data repository, ensuring proper input and management to track key performance indicators.

  • Oversee client data processes to ensure marketing information aligns with preferences across all channels.
  • Work with department leaders to identify essential metrics and establish reporting tools to monitor them effectively.

Email Marketing:

  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to enhance client engagement through targeted email campaigns.
  • Establish automated notifications for routine processes to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

General IT Support: Liaise with external IT service providers to ensure optimal software usage, hardware procurement, and adherence to best practices in cybersecurity and data management.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of ten years in a technology-focused role within a small to medium-sized enterprise, ideally in the wine and spirits sector.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics-based ERP systems or similar platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of fine wine and the broader industry landscape.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach in a dynamic environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with a focus on teamwork and empathy.
  • Ability to develop tailored solutions that meet the needs of colleagues and the organization.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
