Job Title: 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Operational Support team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Infrastructure across a variety of technologies, including RHEL, Microsoft Windows Server, Virtualisation, and Microsoft Stack Technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Infrastructure across a variety of technologies.
  • Author and contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation and provide material to support the project work or the operational support service.
  • Handle escalated issues from both 1st- and 2nd-line support.
  • Investigate and resolve advanced hardware and software problems, performing Root Cause Analysis as required.
  • Managing system upgrades, installations, and configurations.
  • Collaborating with vendors and external support for specialised expertise.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to lower-level support staff.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Server Environments, from Server 2003 – 2019, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design to implementation and support.
  • Very strong Linus system administration skills (Ubuntu / CentOS).
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies including load balancing and firewalls.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such as SharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, MS System Centre, Office365, MS Exchange & CLI tooling such as PowerShell.
  • Good general knowledge of SAN storage technologies.
  • Excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience of producing and updating technical documentation to a high standard.
  • Ability to gain and hold security clearance.
