About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Oakhill Secure Training Centre (STC). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and develop care plans for patients with learning disabilities or ASD
  • Participate in processes to support patients at risk of self-harm or suicide, in line with NICE Guidance
  • Attend monthly supervision and complete yearly EDR to assess targets and progression
  • Provide awareness training and advice for staff on the care of patients with learning disabilities
  • Attend and participate in weekly Integrated Mental Health Team Referrals meetings
Requirements
  • Part 1 NMC registration
  • 5 year UK history of residence
  • Evidence of further development of own clinical practice
  • Experience of working in a secure environment
  • Degree level qualification or above
  • Experience in involvement in innovation or change
  • Hold a Nurse Prescriber qualification
  • Evidence of working in a value for money service
  • Driving licence
