Job Description

Job Title: Employability and Retail Skills Trainer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employability and Retail Skills Trainer to join our team at the National Skills Agency. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training programs to our learners, focusing on employability and retail skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons to learners, ensuring they meet their educational and career goals.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work that demonstrate sequencing of learning and progression, aligning with the National Skills Agency's curriculum.
  • Assess and track learner progress, using appropriate tracking systems and assessment policies.
  • Provide pastoral support to learners, including conducting 1:1 progress reviews and managing behavior issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Participate in events, open days, and OFSTED inspections as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to PTLLS/DTLLS/Cert Ed/PGCE (or willing to work towards a teaching qualification).
  • Assessor qualification.
  • GCSE (or equivalent L2 Functional skills) in English and maths at grade C/4 or above.
  • Business or Retail experience.
  • Confident delivery and ability to work with learners with different learning needs.
