Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at WorkForce Recruitment. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Invoice Processing: Accurately input and process purchase and sales invoices, ensuring timely payment and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Regularly perform reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of our financial records and identify any discrepancies.
  • Credit Control: Assist in monitoring outstanding payments and liaising with customers to ensure timely payment.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Maintain and manage supplier and customer accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • VAT Returns: Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Payroll Support: Provide support in payroll processing as required, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees.
  • Month-End Processes: Assist in closing accounts, preparing financial statements, and producing reports, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • General Administration: Ensure accurate record-keeping and filing of financial documents, maintaining a secure and organized workspace.
  • Liaising with External Auditors: Support in preparing documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ad Hoc Finance Duties: Provide additional support to the finance team as required, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 Years' Commercial Experience: In an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Sage 50: With experience in using Sage 50 accounting software, including bank reconciliations, invoicing, and VAT returns.
  • Excellent Attention to Detail: With the ability to work accurately and efficiently, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Good Communication Skills: With the ability to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office: Particularly Excel, with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Proactive and Team-Oriented: With a strong work ethic and a willingness to support the finance team in achieving its goals.
