Job Summary

The Scouts Association is seeking a skilled Volunteering Design Manager to lead the design and delivery of products that enhance the experience of Scout volunteers. As a key member of the Volunteering Design Team, you will be responsible for maintaining products that support volunteer training, local governance, and the overall volunteer journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Project Support: Collaborate with the wider team to deliver operational projects aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Volunteer Resource Management: Ensure that resources and policy are up-to-date, fit for purpose, and meet the needs of volunteers.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Work with Team UK and UK People Team volunteers to develop resources that are simple to use, understand, and relevant to volunteer needs.
  • Product Prioritization and Management: Effectively identify and prioritize products, maintaining a clear backlog and team work plan based on feedback from volunteer and staff stakeholders and data.
  • Resource Editing and Review: Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure resources are edited and checked for accuracy from a program, international, inclusive, volunteering, and technical perspective.

Requirements

  • Leadership and Management: Ability to effectively line manage, prioritize workload, and work to meet deadlines.
  • Planning and Organization: Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver a diverse workload based on user needs and evidence.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team in a matrix environment, providing support, feedback, and guidance to ensure high-quality output.
  • Volunteering Knowledge: Excellent knowledge and understanding of current volunteering trends, challenges, and solutions.
