About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Volunteering Design Manager to lead and work with our Volunteering Design Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering products to enhance the experience of Scout volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Project Delivery: Support and deliver operational projects in line with our strategic priorities.
  • Volunteer Support: Provide support to volunteers at the Scouts who deliver Scouting locally by ensuring that resources and policy are up to date, fit for purpose, and meet the needs of volunteers.
  • Partnership Working: Work in partnership with Team UK and UK People Team volunteers to ensure that resources are simple to use, understand, and are relevant to volunteer needs.
  • Product Management: Effectively identify and prioritize products, maintain a clear backlog, and team work plan, using feedback from a wide pool of volunteer and staff stakeholders and data.
  • Resource Development: Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure resources produced are edited and checked for accuracy from a programme, international, inclusive, volunteering, and technical perspective.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Management: Able to effectively line manage, prioritize workload, and work to meet deadlines.
  • Planning and Organization: Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver a diverse workload for yourself and your team based on user needs and evidence.
  • Team Leadership: Able to effectively lead and motivate a team in a matrix environment, providing support, feedback, and guidance, ensuring a high-quality output.
  • Volunteering Knowledge: Excellent knowledge and understanding of current volunteering trends, challenges, and solutions.
