About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Volunteering Design Manager to lead our team in designing and delivering high-quality products that enhance the experience of Scout volunteers.

This role involves working closely with the Volunteering Design Team to maintain and develop products that support volunteer training, local governance, and the overall volunteer journey.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of Agile and Product Management techniques, as well as the ability to effectively line manage, prioritise workload, and work to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and deliver operational projects in line with wider strategic priorities.
  • Provide support to volunteers at the Scouts who deliver Scouting locally.
  • Work in partnership with Team UK and UK People Team volunteers to ensure that resources are simple to use.
  • Effectively identify and prioritise products and maintain a clear backlog and team work plan.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure resources produced are edited and checked for accuracy.

  • Able to effectively line manage, prioritise workload and work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage and deliver a diverse workload.
  • Able to effectively lead and motivate a team in a matrix environment, providing support, feedback and guidance.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of current volunteering trends, challenges and solutions.
