Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surveying Manager to lead our team of surveyors in delivering a comprehensive service to our residents. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the surveying function, ensuring effective resource planning and allocation to ensure adequate resources are in place to deliver programs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of surveyors to deliver a comprehensive service to residents, including defect diagnosis and specifying remedial works.
  • Develop and implement effective resource planning and allocation strategies to ensure adequate resources are in place to deliver programs effectively.
  • Provide technical support to the team and act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in surveying and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on team performance and progress.

Requirements:

  • Education to HNC level or equivalent professional qualification/experience.
  • Appropriate surveying qualifications or relevant qualification in line with progression framework.
  • Excellent knowledge of social housing repairs and maintenance, construction methods, and building regulations.
  • Experience of leading teams and planning work schedules, including the deployment of appropriate resources.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of landlord responsibilities, construction, and housing health and safety.
  • Financial awareness and/or budget management experience.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, influencing, and engagement skills.
  • Excellent IT and data analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data and market trends.
  • Ideal candidate will be a member of RICS or CIOB.
