Building Surveying Lead

As part of the Stonewater Group, Mount Green Housing Association is dedicated to addressing housing needs across Surrey and North Sussex by providing tailored services to its residents.

We are currently in search of a Building Surveying Lead to oversee, guide, and inspire a team of versatile surveyors, ensuring the delivery of a holistic service to both tenant and leasehold residents. This role involves managing the surveying operations, ensuring optimal resource planning and allocation to meet service objectives efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

To deliver resident-focused professional building surveying services, including defect analysis and the specification of remedial actions, while serving as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will provide high-level technical support to the team.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of HNC level education or equivalent professional qualifications/experience.
  • Relevant surveying qualifications aligned with the progression framework.
  • In-depth knowledge of social housing repairs, maintenance, construction methodologies, and building regulations.
  • Experience in team leadership and work schedule planning, including effective resource deployment.
  • Strong understanding of landlord responsibilities, construction, and housing health and safety regulations.
  • Financial awareness and/or experience in budget management.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), customer service expertise, and the ability to influence and engage effectively.
  • Proficient IT and data analysis skills, with the capability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Ideally, membership in RICS or CIOB.

Access to a vehicle insured for business use and a full UK driving license is required. This position is also well-suited for participation in our out-of-hours 'response' team, which operates on a rota basis.
