Senior Pavement Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pavement Engineer to join our team at Egis Road Operation UK Ltd. As a key member of our infrastructure management team, you will be responsible for the management of pavement assets, developing and implementing an integrated asset management strategy to deliver maintenance and renewal activities across our network.
Key Responsibilities- Pavement Asset Management: Develop and implement an integrated asset management strategy to deliver maintenance and renewal activities across our network.
- Highway Inventory Management: Collect and manage highway inventory asset data using HD video and upload into asset management systems.
- Project Management: Identify and scope maintenance, renewal, and improvement projects to overcome pavement issues.
- Technical Inspections and Surveys: Assist with the management of technical inspections and machine surveys, including planning of survey routes, assessment, and monitoring of programs.
- Asset Management Forward Planning: Provide input into the production of AMFP for road traffic signs to continuously develop and improve the 5 and 30-year program.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with Highways England, DBFO Co, and key stakeholders internally to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Emergency and Temporary Repairs: Liaise with O&M teams to assist on technical aspects of maintenance, including providing advice for emergency and temporary repairs to pavement assets.
- Whole Life Assessment and Asset Strategy Reviews: Undertake and manage inspections, lifecycle analysis, and asset strategy reviews to ensure optimal pavement performance.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Engage in the identification and implementation of innovation across the business to drive continuous improvement.
- Qualifications: Qualified to degree level or proven experience in pavement engineering or a related field.
- Professional Membership: Progressing towards or membership of a relevant professional institute (e.g., ICE, CIHT, or equivalent).
- Technical Skills: Familiar with pavement design standards in accordance with the DMRB, MCHW, and skilled in MS Office applications.
- Asset Management Systems: General understanding and exposure to real-time asset databases, with a willingness to apply skills to new and evolving asset management systems and tools.
- Project Management and Programming Skills: Experience in project management and programming skills, including knowledge of highway-related areas such as drainage and geotechnical.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding of the commercial impact resulting from a changed operational regime, resulting from external influences.
- Communication and Teamwork: Capable communicator and active team member with a methodical and structured approach to work.
- Relationship Building: Ability to develop and maintain relationships within Egis Road Operation UK Ltd, the DBFO Co, Highways England, and other relevant key stakeholders.
