Cryogenic Engineer Industrial Placement Opportunity

As a Cryogenic Engineer Industrial Placement student at UK Research and Innovation, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in cryogenic engineering. You will be part of a team that develops critical technology for various applications, including European Space Agency (ESA) flight missions and future Particle Physics Facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components for cryocooler products and tooling.
- Prepare and run experiments to validate and improve design modeling.
- Integrate new findings from literature work into existing projects.
- Document findings and results in a methodical and meticulous manner.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree course and returning to university to complete the degree after the placement.
- Required or requested to take an industrial placement year.
- Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement.
- Able to commence employment in summer 2025.
- First-year results demonstrate high grades in lab/project work.
- First-year results are strong in general theory/mathematics.
- Able to communicate complex thoughts in both spoken and written forms.
- Interested in applied research/design.
- Project, lab work, or extracurricular activities demonstrate good team working capabilities, willingness to learn new skills, and open-mindedness.
