Job Title: Buyer

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Buyer to join our team at Peacocks. As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in driving the business forward by sourcing, developing, buying, and delivering a specific range of products at the right cost, right time, and right place.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a buying strategy that ensures trends and fashion are translated appropriately, creating product lines that are relevant to our brand and customer.
  • Take ownership of the critical path and ensure deadlines are met, with any issues being raised and action plans communicated and implemented.
  • Review and analyze sales data to identify top-performing products/lines, ensuring data-driven decisions are made for future lines/intakes and recommendations for improvement are made and presented.
  • Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimum products, prices, and terms of contract, utilizing supplier expertise to improve range and knowledge.
  • Lead meetings at Director/Head of level to ensure effective key information is communicated and any actions are completed within set timescales.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure the successful launch of new product lines/seasonal collections and other company initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Experience within a Fashion retail Buying role with a commercial mindset.
  • In-depth understanding of current Fashion trends and market knowledge.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills.
  • Organized and detailed-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring solid relationships within internal and external teams are developed and maintained.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages along with experience with buying systems.
