About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Buyer to join our team at Peacocks. As a key member of our buying team, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our business by sourcing, developing, and delivering high-quality products that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute buying strategies to ensure trends and fashion are translated into relevant product lines that meet our brand and customer needs.
  • Take ownership of the critical path and ensure deadlines are met, with any issues raised and action plans communicated and implemented.
  • Review and analyze sales data to identify top-performing products and lines, making data-driven decisions for future lines and intakes, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimum products, prices, and terms of contract, utilizing suppliers' expertise to improve range and knowledge.
  • Lead meetings at Director/Head of level to ensure effective communication of key information and completion of actions within set timescales.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the successful launch of new product lines and seasonal collections.
Requirements
  • Experience in a Fashion retail Buying role with a commercial mindset.
  • In-depth understanding of current Fashion trends and market knowledge.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills.
  • Organized and detailed-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain solid relationships within internal and external teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and experience with buying systems.
