About the Company

This organization is engaged in the exploration, extraction, transportation, and marketing of crude oil and natural gas. It operates through various segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate. The Upstream segment encompasses exploration, field development, and production of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. The Downstream segment is dedicated to refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum, petrochemical products, and related services to both international and domestic clients. The Corporate segment provides essential support services such as human resources, finance, and information technology.

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned financial advisor to join the Downstream Finance and Performance Management Department (DSF&PMD), concentrating on Segment Financial Controlling & Financial Advisory functions for the Downstream Segment based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate financial and management reports to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Downstream's financial data.
  • Oversee global financial planning and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Engage in consolidating and reconciling financial figures reported to executive management for finalizing business line financial reports during actual and planning events.
  • Conduct analytical reviews of monthly and quarterly financial statements at the business unit level.
  • Evaluate the organization's financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for short-term operational objectives and long-term strategic budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform cash flow analysis and identify necessary financial instruments (e.g., loans, hedging, leasing) to allocate resources effectively.
  • Develop financial statements for product and regional segments.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Treasury, Accounting, Policy, Tax, Pricing, Financial Accounting, External Reporting, Enterprise Risk, Audit, and Affiliates Support for Downstream (DS) business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain reconciliation controls on balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in the development of budget cycles, monitoring, and allocating budgets in coordination with business and Finance.
  • Coordinate the resolution of audit exceptions for both internal and external audits.
  • Provide guidance to the Downstream Finance community on technical accounting matters.
  • Identify and implement preventative and detective controls on key financial processes.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate recognition of provisions related to environmental remediation, legal, and asset retirement obligations.
  • Oversee the implementation of cost-effective internal controls for results-oriented management, assess the adequacy of internal controls, identify necessary improvements, and take corrective actions; report annually on internal controls through management assurance statements.
  • Support business development initiatives, including capital projects and upgrades.
  • Assist in business systems architecture and ERP for financial functions initiatives.
  • Develop, construct, and review comprehensive financial models for corporate finance transactions (e.g., M&A due diligence, impairment testing, tax-related activities) and conduct valuation analyses using appropriate methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • This position necessitates a permanent relocation to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Hold an Accounting/Finance professional designation such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIMA, CA, CFA, or equivalent.
  • Have over 12 years of experience in Finance and reporting-related activities, with at least 5 years in Oil and Gas Downstream.
  • Demonstrate prior experience in implementing financial controls.
  • Possess a solid understanding of IFRS as it pertains to Oil & Gas.
  • Have a strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of SAP Finance Modules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exhibit in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: trade accounting, impairment, asset accounting, cost reallocations, revenue accounting, transfer pricing, financial consolidation, and group reporting requirements.
  • Strong modeling experience would be considered an asset, allowing for a broader suite of responsibilities.
