About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Assistant to join our team at a good-rated school in Buckingham. The successful candidate will have experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and will be able to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for children to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver activities that meet the needs of SEMH students
- Develop a holistic approach to meeting the needs of SEMH students, working with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care and Therapy Care programmes for a designated group/form
- Establish therapeutic relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEN or a willingness to work with children with SEN
- Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop
- Able to manage challenging behaviour
- Able to commit to working fixed days - full or part time
- Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
- Has relevant training to support students with learning difficulties
