About the Role

This is a part-time, zero-hours contract position that offers flexible hours to work around your schedule. As a Specialist Disability Mentor, you will provide one-to-one support to students, helping them develop coping strategies and techniques to overcome their disability-related difficulties. Your role will involve working closely with students, understanding their unique needs, and providing tailored support to help them succeed in their academic pursuits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to Higher Education students with disabilities or mental health conditions
  • Assist students in developing coping strategies and techniques to overcome disability-related difficulties
  • Work closely with students to understand their unique needs and provide tailored support
  • Collaborate with other support services to ensure comprehensive support for students
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Postgraduate qualification in mental health (desired)
  • Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in higher or further education (desired)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing student needs
