About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join our team at Academics. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with our therapists and psychologists to provide support to children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs (SEMH).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with children across key stage one & two
  • Assist pupils with emotional needs, behavioural challenges to support the individual's wellbeing and personal development
  • Collaborate with trained therapists, counsellors, SENCO's and psychologists to develop and implement support plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children, promoting their emotional wellbeing and resilience

Requirements:

  • Qualified in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology or Education
  • Relevant experience working with children with SEMH needs
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
