People Group, a prominent global firm specializing in construction and consultancy, is seeking a seasoned project management professional to assume the role of Director of Operations. This position involves overseeing a complex high containment laboratory project. We are looking for a candidate with substantial experience in high containment laboratory construction (CL1, CL2, CL3, or CL4) who can guide the project through its design phase, early contractor involvement, and contractor management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage the planning, execution, and successful completion of high containment laboratory projects.
- Provide strategic leadership and operational guidance to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with essential stakeholders to formulate and execute project plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Identify and address potential risks and challenges associated with laboratory projects.
- Review tender documents and engage in the tender evaluation process to select suitable contractors.
- Oversee contractors post-appointment, ensuring alignment with project goals and strategies.
- Assess contractor proposals and challenges to confirm their viability and practicality.
- Offer expert advice and consultancy on construction-related matters pertaining to laboratory projects.
About You:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior or director-level project management capacity, preferably within a high containment laboratory setting or a comparable field.
- Extensive experience in laboratory projects and construction consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in a scientific environment.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and develop a team of professionals.
- Exceptional project management capabilities with a history of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
