Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Veritas Education Recruitment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students in a Year 1 class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Support individual and small group learning activities.
  • Help develop and implement tailored phonics programs, with a focus on Red Rose Phonics.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Participate in school activities and continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant certification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children in a primary school setting, particularly Year 1.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in teaching phonics, ideally with Red Rose Phonics.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a primary school.
  • Ability to adapt to various educational needs and learning styles.
