At Sofar Sounds, we are a global music community dedicated to uniting individuals in unique venues across more than 400 cities worldwide. Our team consists of artists, music enthusiasts, and organizers, all working together to create intimate live music experiences that foster connections. Every performance is centered around the artist.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Community Engagement Leader, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate the local Sofar community in your area. This community will include artists, hosts, crew members, A/V technicians, photographers, and like-minded organizations.

You will strategize, organize, and promote Sofar events in your city. As you expand the local Sofar community, your role will adapt, allowing for closer collaboration with our regional concert and marketing teams to further develop the city.

Sofar has collaborated with over 30,000 artists and welcomed over 1,000,000 fans to shows globally, engaging millions more online each month. You will be part of a passionate team that is committed to fostering an industry-leading culture that supports artists and introduces their music to new audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a local authority to ensure exceptional experiences at every Sofar event you produce, catering to the audience, artists, hosts, crew, A/V team, and photographers.
  • Continuously seek out remarkable new artists to book and venues to collaborate with, building relationships and supporting their local development through Sofar.
  • Recruit and oversee a team of crew members to execute Sofar events.
  • Market the events you produce to ensure full attendance.
  • Establish partnerships with local organizations that share a commitment to supporting diverse and inclusive grassroots communities.
  • Organize community events (e.g., social gatherings, networking events, panels, jam sessions) to connect, support, and represent the community in your area.
  • Manage local equipment and event supplies inventory, and attend additional events as necessary.
  • Take ownership of your city's growth and success concerning ticket inventory, event quality, and overall experience.
  • Understand your city deeply and represent its authentic voice in all your endeavors.

  • Passionate about supporting artists, with innovative ideas on how to do so.
  • Well-connected within the local music scene.
  • A natural connector who thrives on bringing people together.
  • Takes pride in having an in-depth knowledge of your city.
  • Capable of working independently while maintaining connections.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at meeting deadlines and solving problems.
  • Flexible availability for work hours.
  • Previous experience in producing live music events or creative curation is advantageous.
  • Experience working with local community organizations is preferred.
  • Eligible for employment.
