At Sofar Sounds, we are a global music community dedicated to connecting people through intimate live music experiences. Our mission is to bring together artists, music enthusiasts, and organizers in over 400 cities worldwide.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Community Engagement Lead, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate and expand the local Sofar community in your area. This includes collaborating with artists, hosts, crew members, A/V technicians, photographers, and like-minded organizations.
Your role will involve planning, organizing, and promoting Sofar events, while also fostering relationships within the local music scene. As the community grows, you will work closely with our regional concert and marketing teams to further enhance the local music landscape.
Sofar Sounds has collaborated with over 30,000 artists and has hosted more than 1,000,000 fans globally. You will be part of a passionate team committed to creating a supportive culture for artists and introducing their music to new audiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a local leader to ensure exceptional experiences at every Sofar event for audiences, artists, hosts, crew, A/V teams, and photographers.
- Continuously seek out new and exciting artists and venues, building relationships to support their local development.
- Recruit and manage a team of crew members to facilitate Sofar events.
- Promote the events you organize to ensure full attendance.
- Establish partnerships with local organizations that share a commitment to supporting diverse and inclusive grassroots communities.
- Host community events such as socials, networking gatherings, panels, and jam nights to foster connections and support within your city.
- Oversee local equipment and event supplies inventory, and attend additional events as necessary.
- Take ownership of your city's growth and success in terms of ticket sales, event quality, and overall experience.
- Understand your city deeply and represent its authentic voice in all your endeavors.

- Passionate about supporting artists and bringing innovative ideas to the table.
- Well-connected within the local music community.
- A natural connector who thrives on fostering relationships.
- Deep knowledge of your city and its cultural landscape.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining connections.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at meeting deadlines and solving problems.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
- Experience in producing live music events or creative curation is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with local community organizations is preferred.
