Job Summary:

The Built Environment Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its fundraising efforts as the Director of Development. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization and play a key role in shaping its future.

About the Role:

The Director of Development will be responsible for growing philanthropic and supporter income for the Trust's activities and strategic mission. This will involve leading and developing the organization's capacity to identify and steward major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors. The role will also involve planning and executing special events to support fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve income targets of approximately £1,000,000 per year within 3 years.
  • Lead and develop the Trust's fundraising team to identify and steward major gift prospects, corporate and foundation donors.
  • Plan and execute special events to support fundraising efforts.
  • Work closely with the Chief Executive and Trustee Board to build the fundraising capacity of the Trust.
  • Provide leadership across all income streams to achieve fundraising goals.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising and a strong understanding of the non-profit sector. They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
