About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic team at Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen Referrals and Prioritize Effectively: Assess and prioritize referrals to the service, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Provide Holistic Psychosocial Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individual needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Undertake Clinical Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
  • Develop and Implement Brief Care Interventions: Design and deliver brief, evidence-based interventions to support individuals in crisis.
  • Collaborate with Referrers and Professionals: Foster strong relationships with referrers, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Supervise Junior Staff: Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting their professional development.
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: Contribute to team discussions, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance care delivery.
Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications: Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker with current registration.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Post-qualification specialist mental health training or leadership qualifications.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a community setting, leadership roles, and staff management.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills; ability to work under pressure and contribute to service development.
