Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team for older adults. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health interventions and assessments for individuals aged 65 and above.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of service users, delivering a range of clinical skills and therapeutic interventions.
  • Act as a Care Co-ordinator for people who use the service, promoting carer involvement in the delivery of care with service user consent.
  • Participate in Neighbourhood Team MDT meetings and ensure key information is recorded in shared care plans.
  • Clinical Assessment of mental health needs.
  • Assessment and management of risk.
  • Participating in a duty rota to offer on-call support and advice to service users and their carers.
Requirements:
  • Relevant professional registered qualification (Registered mental health nurse, Social Worker or Occupational therapist).
  • Training in supervision and appraisal.
  • Significant relevant experience in working within a mental health service.
  • Experience of working with older people with mental health needs.
  • Experience of clinical and managerial supervision of junior staff.
