About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Remedy Education. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with ASD and SEMH needs, promoting their well-being and encouraging positive behavior.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and other professionals to develop tailored educational plans that meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Assist in implementing effective teaching strategies and interventions to enhance the learning experience for students with SEN.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, creating a safe space where students can thrive and reach their full potential.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally with a focus on ASD and SEMH.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN, demonstrating empathy, patience, and understanding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Knowledge of effective SEN teaching strategies and interventions, as well as a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in SEN support are desirable but not essential.
