SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity in a Specialist School

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Camden. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 support to SEN students, particularly those with severe Autism, and assist in implementing educational strategies, including PECS and Phonics.

Daily Duties:
  • Provide 1:1 support to SEN students, particularly those with severe Autism
  • Assist in implementing educational strategies, including PECS and Phonics
  • Support the teacher in classroom activities and daily routines
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate with the school's SEN team to meet individual learning needs
  • Monitor and track student progress and behavior
  • Assist with personal care and medical needs as required
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities for career progression

This role is perfect for a graduate looking to gain valuable insight into the education industry or for individuals with prior experience as a teaching assistant in an educational setting. Candidates with expertise in SEN, specifically Autism and behavior management, are strongly encouraged to apply.

We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a 1:1 setting, ideally with knowledge of PECS and/or Phonics, to assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be confident in supporting the teacher in their daily duties and have a genuine interest in working with children with diverse learning needs.
