Our partnered primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis starting in September. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a specialist SEN school environment, providing support to small groups of SEN children in the classroom.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a 1:1 setting, ideally with knowledge of PECS and/or Phonics, to assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be confident in supporting the teacher in their daily duties and have a genuine interest in working with children with diverse learning needs.
This role is perfect for a graduate looking to gain valuable insight into the education industry or for individuals with prior experience as a teaching assistant in an educational setting. Candidates with expertise in SEN, specifically Autism and behavior management, are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in medication administration, moving and handling training would be advantageous.
Daily Duties:
- Provide 1:1 support to SEN students, particularly those with severe Autism
- Assist in implementing educational strategies, including PECS and Phonics
- Support the teacher in classroom activities and daily routines
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with the school's SEN team to meet individual learning needs
- Monitor and track student progress and behavior
- Assist with personal care and medical needs as required
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities for career progression
