Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to support students with special educational needs in Secondary Schools in the North London area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Learning: Assist in the educational and social development of students with SEN, ensuring they have the best possible educational experience.
  • Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support to students, adapting learning materials and methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support classroom teachers in managing pupil behavior and organizing learning activities.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student support.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the maintenance of student records.
  • Personal Care: Where necessary, provide personal care and assistance to students.
Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a secondary school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy.
  • Understanding of SEN and the strategies used to support students with additional needs.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
