Environmental Compliance Specialist


Are you interested in contributing to a significant infrastructure initiative? Balfour Beatty VINCI is engaged in the design and construction of a major segment of a high-speed rail project.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our Environmental Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and standards throughout construction activities.
  • Develop and implement environmental management strategies and monitoring protocols.
  • Identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities, maintaining an updated register and advancing selected initiatives.
  • Assess the financial impacts of environmental decisions, including waste management and project delays, to optimize business outcomes.
  • Foster environmental awareness among project teams through training sessions, informational briefings, and promotional campaigns.
  • Oversee the operation of environmental monitoring equipment, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data related to water quality, air quality, noise levels, and waste management.
  • Conduct site inspections to evaluate environmental practices, providing feedback to teams and senior management.
  • Collaborate with community liaison personnel to address concerns from the public regarding environmental impacts such as noise and dust.
Qualifications:

  • A degree in an environmental science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in an environmental role, particularly in relation to construction activities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental legislation and management systems.
  • Valid UK Driving License.
