The ideal candidate will have a strong belief in the potential of all students and will work collaboratively with the educational team to ensure that every pupil receives the support they need to thrive.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily implementation of the SEND policy and coordinate tailored provisions for students with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Offer professional support to colleagues, engaging closely with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Maintain a strategic perspective on the provision for students with SEND or disabilities across the institution, ensuring quality through established methodologies.
  • Collaborate with early years providers, other educational institutions, educational psychologists, and health and social care professionals as necessary.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all students, adhering to school policies and the staff code of conduct.
  • Lead the High Needs In-School Provision, incorporating some teaching responsibilities.


Essential Qualities:

  • Dedication to enhancing educational standards.
  • Previous experience in primary education.
  • Completion of NPQ for SENCO.
  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and experience in a SENDCo role.
  • Ability to enhance existing processes and systems.
  • Experience in delivering training and leading INSET sessions.
  • Conduct observations of students and support educators with strategies to improve student outcomes.
