Job Description

A leading compliance firm, AJ FOX COMPLIANCE, is seeking a highly skilled Risk Lawyer to join their team in Bristol.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, particularly regarding contract management.

This role is best suited to someone with prior experience within a law firm, ideally within a risk management role. Equally, someone with experience in a commercial contract review/negotiation role would also be considered favourably.

Familiarity with the SRA Handbook and relevant legal/regulatory legislation would be beneficial to this role but is not mandatory.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive regulatory risk training to ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest compliance requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislative/regulatory changes and ensure policies/procedures are promptly updated to reflect these changes.
  • Address regulatory risk and compliance issues/queries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Aid in ongoing reviews of engagement letters and terms of business to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance regarding legal documentation, framework terms and contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the onboarding of firm suppliers, specifically with contract term reviews and due diligence assessments.
  • Review client engagement terms, codes of conduct and KYC advice to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Advise on secondment terms for new and existing secondments.
  • Assist in the prompt delivery of client pitches and questionnaires.

This position is perfect for a well-organised, confident communicator with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Someone adept at problem-solving and possessing a proactive approach to resolving problems will excel in this role.
