About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Children in Care Service at Doncaster Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children in care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake statutory visits to children in care to assess their needs and develop care plans.
  • Chair meetings to review and update care plans, ensuring the best interests of the child are met.
  • Provide support, advice, and guidance to carers, helping them to provide a stable and nurturing environment for children.
  • Work closely with other professionals, such as education and health services, to ensure a holistic approach to supporting children in care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve the quality of care for children in care.
Requirements
  • A professional social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
  • Knowledge of child care legislation and policies, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
