Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager - Technical Lead to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the technical design process, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design process for our projects, ensuring that designs are technically compliant with statutory and client design standards.
- Manage and coordinate the work of design consultants and subcontractors, ensuring that all design activities are completed to the required quality and within the agreed timeframe.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and design consultants.
- Ensure that all design activities are aligned with the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on design progress, identifying and mitigating any potential risks or issues.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure that design solutions are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge and expertise, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a design management role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution.
- Experience in leading technical teams and managing design consultants.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in design management, preferably in a construction or engineering context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering results.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
