Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Claims Handler to join our Large Loss Team at Markerstudy Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of complex motor claims, including high-value bodily injury cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of complex claims, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution.
- Investigate and advise on claims involving complex indemnity issues, including private, commercial, and motor trade risks.
- Work closely with the team to provide technical expertise and support, ensuring best practices and best outcomes.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, business partners, and reinsurers.
- Support the development of junior colleagues through mentoring and coaching.
- Adhere to authority limits, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
- Proactively manage personal training and development requirements.
Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of personal injury claims, with experience in handling serious injury cases.
- Technical knowledge of motor indemnity issues, including Discount Rates, Care Claims, and other heads of claim.
- Good knowledge of medical disciplines and ability to investigate personal injury claims at all levels of severity.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and application of claims negotiation, liability decision making, and cost potential.
- Knowledge of current, relevant Case Law.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize own workloads.
- Good communicator and ability to coach and support colleagues on technical topics.
- Willingness to develop self and new skills.
- Ability to work with flexibility in a proactive claims environment.
