Job Title: Lead Airworthiness Assurance Engineer

Salary: £47,683 – £52,426 (Based on skills and experience)



Key Responsibilities:



Conduct independent airworthiness assurance activities related to design certification (qualification and safety) evidence to support airworthiness certification for Development, Production, and Export clearance programs.
Act as the airworthiness focal point for negotiating flight limitations with System Design Responsibility teams, Flight Operations, and external clients.
Develop and issue Flight Certification (Military Permit to Fly) for Development and Production Aircraft.
Generate and provide Flight Certification (Release to Service) for Export Clients.
Perform independent airworthiness assurance activities for emerging flight safety concerns impacting Development aircraft, leading to the issuance of Flight Safety Procedures (Additional Flight Limitations/Flight Safety Messages) to Eurofighter Partner Company operators (Italy, Spain, Germany, UK).
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of BAE Systems and Eurofighter flight certification and design certification processes.
Support and represent Airworthiness in Typhoon project meetings, including participation in external customer meetings.

Required Skills and Experience:



Knowledge of Aircraft Avionic and Mechanical systems design and Aerodynamic disciplines.
Familiarity with design configuration control processes.
Experience in design certification (qualification and safety) and Airworthiness processes.
Understanding of aircraft operations.
Proficiency in analytical methods to support the establishment of integrated aircraft level flight limitations.

The Typhoon Initial Airworthiness (Flight Certification) Team:


This team is responsible for current and future aircraft development activities, ensuring the type airworthiness of the product and its release into service across all customers.
