London, Greater London, United Kingdom UCL Eastman Dental Institute Full time
About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for simulating and modeling quantum computer networked systems to enable distributed quantum computing. This will involve formalizing and parameterizing the requirements, as well as exploring the dependencies between technologies, quantum information transfer methods, and networking to identify performance and operational limits.

The postholder will research the behavior of multicast transmission of quantum information using multiple bipartite entanglement versus multipartite entanglement to be able to send the same qubit to different quantum computers using open-source simulators and incorporate their own data center simulators.

The postholder will also explore heterogeneous data center networked architectures to seamlessly support both quantum and classical computing.

About You

The successful applicant should have a MRes in Quantum Technologies or similar. The applicant should also have an excellent research track record and high-quality publications in one or more of the following areas: quantum networks, quantum computing, quantum error correction.

The applicant should have excellent written and spoken English, and presentation skills. Knowledge and experience of optical networks, including modeling and simulation, are desirable, as well as experience with relevant modeling packages NetSquid, Qiskit, Stim.
