About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for simulating and modeling quantum computer networked systems to enable distributed quantum computing. This will involve formalizing and parameterizing the requirements, as well as exploring the dependencies between technologies, quantum information transfer methods, and networking to identify performance and operational limits.

The postholder will take the lead on the simulation and modeling of the distributed quantum computing system, and will be expected to research the behavior of multicast transmission of quantum information using multiple bipartite entanglement versus multipartite entanglement.

The candidate will also explore heterogeneous data center networked architectures to seamlessly support both quantum and classical computing.

About You

The successful applicant should have a Master's degree in Quantum Technologies or a related field, and an excellent research track record with high-quality publications in one or more of the following areas: quantum networks, quantum computing, quantum error correction.

The candidate should have excellent written and spoken English, as well as presentation skills, and be able to disseminate research at conferences and through journal papers.

Knowledge and experience of optical networks, including modeling and simulation, is desirable, as well as experience with relevant modeling packages such as NetSquid, Qiskit, and Stim.
