Deputy Children's Home Manager Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Deputy Children's Home Manager. This is a unique opportunity to work in a new service within Somerset, developing a residential care setting for children and young people who have experienced significant trauma and difficulties in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Registered Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the Children's Home, ensuring the safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Work with children and young people on a daily basis to provide the best possible care and support.
  • Manage the home and complete office-based work, including administrative tasks and record-keeping.
  • Deputise for the Registered Home Manager during absence periods.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Recent experience working as a Children's Home Deputy Manager or as a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker in a Children's Home.
  • Minimum QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent (In line with Ofsted requirements).
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to completing QCF Level 5 Children, Young People and Families Manager qualification.
  • Flexibility to cover shifts in line with the needs of the home.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.

About the Partnership:

Homes2inspire Limited, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Somerset County Council have formed a unique partnership to offer homes and support for children and young people within Somerset who have experienced significant trauma and difficulties in their lives. We are creating a different sort of home and care for children and young people which offers them flexibility and support from a full range of people that can help them.

This home is part of a wider service we are developing together, including more children's homes, high needs foster carers, CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services) intensive treatment houses and therapeutic education. Homes2inspire is a leading provider of Children's Homes with 30 homes across the UK. Our teams strive for excellence for our children.

The partnership is also able to offer wider support and clinical supervision with mental health and social work practitioners.
