Overview of the Team and Role: The Finance division oversees all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, strategic financial planning, and analysis, as well as procurement and accounts management. This position is designed to provide enduring support to the Head of Financial Strategy and the team in generating insightful analyses and presentations that cater to the diverse needs of the organization.

Objective: To support the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) in delivering comprehensive reports on operational expenditures, budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio evaluations for senior leadership, the board, and stakeholders. This role is crucial in developing and monitoring key performance indicators and metrics that drive the business and its support functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in compiling the monthly review of operational costs, including headcount statistics.
  2. Generate monthly reports on operating expenses by cost center, ensuring accurate allocation to relevant accounts, projects, and business units.
  3. Track actual expenditures by cost type and center against the budget.
  4. Conduct thorough variance analyses of actuals compared to budget and provide insightful commentaries.
  5. Collaborate closely with the Accounting and Accounts Payable teams to oversee and review General Ledger entries and balances.
  6. Facilitate the monthly General Ledger review process.
  7. Engage in selected tasks related to the preparation of monthly forecasts.
  8. Contribute to the annual budgeting process.
  9. Assist in designing and delivering comprehensive profit and loss management reports by business group.
  10. Provide in-depth financial analyses as required.
  11. Support the development of tailored monthly reports for Executive Committee leaders.
  12. Help prepare quarterly reports for the CEO and management.
  13. Participate in Finance projects, including the reimplementation of the general ledger.
  14. Prepare analytics and reporting for the portfolio.
  15. Create materials for internal reviews, committee meetings, or board presentations as needed.
  16. Maintain FP&A's relationships with business managers, senior leadership, and other stakeholders.
  17. Share responsibilities for monitoring the FP&A shared inbox and addressing inquiries from the business.
  18. Respond to ad-hoc requests for cost analyses.

Candidate Profile:

Background and Technical Skills: A qualified accountant with relevant FP&A experience, ideally from a large organization, preferably within the financial services sector. Possesses strong numerical, analytical, and data management capabilities. Experienced in handling large datasets and articulating clear conclusions. Proficient in advanced Excel, with a solid understanding of PowerPoint for presentation preparation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to cultivate relationships across all organizational levels. Strong writing skills with experience in crafting business commentaries. Familiarity with Infor SunSystems and Q&A software is advantageous. Knowledge of Concur Expense, Concur Invoice, and Concur Intelligence modules is beneficial. A working knowledge of Power BI is a plus. Demonstrates the ability to work independently to address and resolve complex challenges.
