Carbon60 is a leading chemical manufacturer based in the West Midlands, seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer/Manager to lead our Mechanical Engineering & Civil Engineering departments, comprising 25 staff and contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing mechanical maintenance, project engineering, and personnel management.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall management of the Mechanical Engineering & Civil Engineering departments, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership of the mechanical maintenance department, including staff management and contractor coordination.
- Project engineering management experience within an industrial manufacturing environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Fluent use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize maintenance operations.
- Excellent personnel management skills, with a focus on promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
- Liaison with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and external agencies, such as the HSE and insurance inspectors.
Requirements
- A Mechanical Engineering HNC as a minimum, ideally a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience within an industrial manufacturing environment in a Mechanical Engineering role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A flexible attitude to deal with multiple complex tasks simultaneously, with a focus on meeting operational priorities.
